Statewide Transportation
Planning Framework Recommendations

Economic Vitality

Though Arizona is experiencing a current downturn in the economy, it is cyclical. Transportation, land use and the economy are closely tied. Looking to the future, it is critical to build a seamless transportation system that moves people and goods efficiently making Arizona a place where job growth and economic diversification can occur. The Statewide Transportation Planning Framework presents an integrated system of roads, transit, passenger rail, non-motorized modes, aviation, and freight options that link activity centers and supports emerging economic opportunities that will strengthen Arizona’s economy.
