Building a Quality Arizona

Statewide Transportation
Planning Framework Recommendations

Web Site Open House

The Statewide Transportation Planning Framework is a 40-year vision for the future, containing a series of multimodal improvement recommendations that encompass roadways, rail, transit, and accommodations for bicycle and pedestrian circulation. This program reflects a real need, based on an expected population of 14-16 million in 2050, and overarching congestion statewide. An extensive public outreach process was conducted to determine a vision and guiding principles to lead the project. The recommendations presented are based on the needs and community priorities identified around the state, not just based on the current financial situation. “What Moves You Arizona,” the state’s long-range transportation plan, will determine a budget and assign specific priorities for improvements to be built within the next 20 years.
