Welcome! Your Input is Important!
In both rural and urban areas of the state, you and your neighbors have an opportunity to contribute to the creation of a future transportation plan that addresses options that will affect future Arizona generations. An effective statewide transportation system is the cornerstone of our quality of lifeit provides access to and from our work, education, medical and professional services, friends and family gatherings and recreation.
In a process known as Building a Quality Arizona (bqAZ), Councils of Governments (COGs), Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), Tribal governments, and land management agencies from around the state are working with ADOT to talk about state infrastructure needs over the next three decades.
During public workshops around the state in November, citizens reviewed and provided input on three transportation planning scenarios. The scenarios present ideas for Arizona's transportation futre and contain improvements and concepts that will affect Arizonas quality of life in the 2030 and 2050 planning horizon.
The recommended scenario will be developed by completing a formal evaluation process of which the framework was developed through public and statewide input. The formal evaluation process combined with strategic input received from the Regional Technical Advisory Teams, statewide stakeholders, border states, and technical analysis will produce the recommended transportation planning framework and a philosophy going forward.
